Luke Falk Could Very Well Win the Heisman

If you don’t know who Luke Faulk is you will.  He’s the all-time Pac 12 leader in passing touchdowns.  He passed Marcus Mariota earlier this season.  That’s saying something.  Whatever Mike Leach is doing must be working because his Cougars are 4-0 and should be ranked inside the top ten in the country.  But for some reason the NCAA decideds to ride Ohio State super hard.  I wouldn’t be surprised if they moved Ohio State back into the top five since they beat Maryland.  And we all know Maryland is the epitome of college football.  At least the imaginary epitome.  Back to Falk.  Luke Falk currently is 10th in the nation in passing yards and 2nd in passing touchdowns.  His team is also 4-0, ranked 11th in the nation and beat a top five USC team.  That’s a pretty decent track record.  It’s also not even halfway through the season.  Washington State is good and getting better.  After their near loss to Boise State in what was an AMAZING triple overtime game they’ve been rolling.  They still have Utah and Washington on the schedule and both are ranked.  If both WSU and Washington can stay undefeated it will easily be the most important rivalry game of the year.  Washington State has the ability to do that.  We know Washington does.  Falk is a great talent and leader.  He’s shown that.  But he’ll have to continue his hot streak.  There’s a guy across the map that has just as much steam as him.  Saquon Barkley is the favorite right now for the Heisman.  There’s no denying it.  But don’t be surpised when Falk finds his way to New York.  I think it’s dumb when one loss throws away a Heisman campaign.  I think it’s even more stupid when they just give it to the quarterback on the best team.  Yes Jalen Hurts DID NOT deserve the Heisman over McCaffery.  But let me put this into perspective.  Barkley is on track to break that record.  That’s insane.  I’m not saying Falk will win the Heisman.  I’m just saying he has a shot at it if his play keeps up.  Don’t be surprised when people start talking about the kid.  His name is gonna keep getting talked about.  But it all depends on whether or not Washington State can stay high in the rankings.  Most importantly if they lose a game.  One loss and his chances are almost gone.  The Cougars need to stay undefeated.  His Heisman hopes are dependent on it.
