If you had told me that Jacksonville would be leading the AFC South after week 6 I probably would’ve asked what drugs you were on. But these cats are high on football baby! The Jags are 3-3 and their defense is jaggin’ off on everybody right now. Last week Big Ben threw for 5 interceptions and 0 touchdowns against them. Ben Roethlisberger. He’s won two Super Bowls. And one lawsuit. Le’Veon Bell had 47 yards on 15 carries. This just proves he spent too much of his offseason at Dairy Queen. Antonio Brown was still the best receiver in the NFL. He had 10 catches for 157 yards. But as a whole Pittsburgh got smacked. While the offense excuse me Leonard Fournette did its part the defense was the reason they could jag off all game. Their interceptions along with a pick 6 helped Jacksonville cruise to a victory. This week was a little different. While the Jags still ran the ball with ease they came out on a losing effort against the Rams.
The Jaguars might have the best defense in the NFL right now. They have two players in the top ten for interceptions. Malik Hooker has 3 which is tied for second, and A.J. Bouye has 2 which is tied for third in the league. Calias Campbell has 6 sacks which third in the NFL. Myles Jack is tied for sixth in the NFL for tackles with 42. They held Pittsburgh who is one of the top offenses in the NFL to 9 points. They held Baltimore and Houston to 7 each. Houston almost got 60 a few weeks ago! This defense is great. If you play fantasy football then you want them. They’re the top scoring defense in Yahoo’s fantasy and inside the top ten for NFL fantasy. That’s not bad. There’s still 2/3 of the season left, but they’re looking really nice right now. Their only issue is the offense is one-dimensional.
Kareem Hunt is rookie of the year right now. There’s no debate. But Leonard Fournette is close behind him. Fournette is second in the NFL in rushing yards and touchdowns right now. He’s still a good ways away from Kareem Hunt, but he’s having a great season so far. Jacksonville is leading the NFL in rushing yards per game with 165.2 a game. Be extremely grateful for Leonard. He’s jagged off on pretty much every defense he’s played this year and it’s probably going to continue. If it weren’t for him the Jaguars could easily be 1-4 or 2-3. Blake Bortles isn’t playing great but he’s not playing bad either. It sucks that Allen Robinson is out because with the rushing game and defense being so great they could probably flourish pretty well. The best receiver they have is Marqise Lee and that can hurt later on down the road. Now if Forunette can take that kind of workload as rookie then more power to him. He just doesn’t have the experience you’d like to have for later in the season or even playoffs. But that’s still not for a while. This offense is great but it’s like Camp Greenlake. There’s holes everywhere. I think of Leonard Fournette as Zero. He probably loves digging holes.
The Texans aren’t bad but Deshaun Watson is still a rookie, and it shows at times. The Titans might not have Mariota for a few games. Don’t worry about Indianapolis. The SCLSU Mud Dogs without Bouche could probably beat them. As of right now Jacksonville is leading this division. Their schedule is pretty easy from here on out. Don’t be surprised if they end up fighting for a playoff spot come January. Until then all you Jacksonville fans need to go jaggin off. You might not get this opportunity again soon.
