(Wisconsin native Tony Romo just enjoying some Badger basketball)
I’ve got a an idea and I want you to stay with me for a second. The Packers are in need of a quarterback since Aaron Rodgers doesn’t have a collarbone anymore. But in all seriousness it sucks that happened, because he’s by far the best quarterback in the league. If I hear one more person say Tom Brady is still the best in the league I’m likely to snap on any person I see. Anyway, no collarbone. To help find the next Green Bay QB I had what could potentially be a big money-maker. We’re going to take Johnny Manziel, Tony Romo, Brett Favre, Peyton Manning, Robert Griffin III and Colin Kaepernick and put them in a Hunger Games situation and broadcast it live. Watch it live on ESPN? The survivor is your new Green Bay quarterback for the remainder of the season and potentially post season. Nothing says you like winning more than surviving a giant arena where you fight to the death. People would be crazy to not watch it. Remember this is not a testament to their football skills. It’s to their ability to stay alive. But the real is who will be coming out of that alive? It’s tough to say. All of them would most likely put up a good fight. But I think it comes down to Johnny Manziel and RGIII. Disagree? You might. It’s fine.
Tony Romo looks like he would survive in the early stages. He’s the hometown hero back from retirement looking to basically give every Dallas fan the finger. But right in the middle of it he’ll get injured. That actually sounds a little familiar. He gets a spear to the chest and he’s gone. Peyton Manning is easy. If he were in the games he would definitely be a career. He’s gonna be in charge of some alliance and do what he wants. Then he goes out in blazing glory near the end to honor his people. Brett Favre and Colin Kaepernick are gone at the cornucopia. Favre looks like Father Time did a number on him and Kaepernick will just protest the whole hunger games itself. They’re gone within the first 10 minutes. RGIII is what I think of when I think of a warrior. I can imagine the war paint and all. But Johnny Manziel is a warrior of a different breed. Money Manziel would definitely use a sword to slice up any of them. He’s going take this along with his talents to the Bay. It’s the Green Bay. Johnny Football might not be the QB they get but he’s the QB they deserve. He is looking for somewhere to get back into the league. Manziel didn’t win much in the NFL but he never got a fair shake. The media absolutely killed him. He couldn’t just play football. His stats weren’t that awful and he did win a game. Oh yeah he also played for the Browns. He won a game with at the time the worst team in the NFL. I’d love to see it happen where he comes back. It probably won’t but crazier things have happened.
Regardless of who they sign everyone needs to realize that Green Bay still has offensive weapons. If they get a QB with a decent arm they should be alright in the pass game. Ty Montgomery and rookie Aaron Jones will have to step up in the run game. No matter who Green Bay has at quarterback they’ll need a run game to lean on if the passing game isn’t finding success. Without Rodgers there will definitelty be some times when they can’t get it going in the air. Their defense isn’t bad to where they’re going to allow a ton of big plays. Growing pains will come to whoever is taking snaps under center. But if the Packers want to make the playoffs without Rodgers then everyone will need to step up and quickly. Aaron Rodgers is Green Bay. But on the bright side he’ll have tons of time to spend time with his dog from that State Farm commercial. Get well soon Aaron. And don’t worry Green Bay fans. Everything is going tibia okay.
