It was just a couple years ago that Peyton “Forehead Mark” Manning and his Broncos against Dabbin’ Cam and the Panthers. The Denver defense was the reason they went to the Super Bowl that season. Don’t forget Brock Osweiler started a few games in the 2015-2016 season. Anyway Denver’s defense led in almost every defensive stat that year. Funny because Carolina led in almost every stat. But it’s even funnier because Denver was on the negative side of that game against Seattle a few years prior to this. They must’ve learned a lesson or two. But since that Super Bowl and Manning’s retirement the Broncos have continued that success on the defensive side. The offense is basically a 180 of that. It’s a dumpster fire. And not the good kind.
Denver’s biggest issue is the quarterback situation. Trevor Siemian is not the guy. He’s really not. I thought he might be a couple games into last season but quickly lost faith in him. I would say give him a chance but I saw him all last season. He just can’t carry an offense the way they need him to. I would love to see Paxton Lynch get a couple snaps. I’m sure he’d love that too. His lack of experience is a problem I know, but how else is gonna get it? Playing madden? If the Brocketship (Brock Osweiler) gets in I can guarantee Denver is losing no matter who they play. It could be the SCLSU Mud Dogs. I’ll bet on Bobby Bouche and Coach Klein. Now most people would argue that this isn’t as big of a deal as it may seem. Some will say they have a solid run game to lean on in C.J. Anderson. While that’s true to some extent there’s a big piece missing. You can’t rely on that 24/7! In a football game you can establish the run early in order you use it when the pass game isn’t going anywhere. But what happens if you can’t get the run game going either? Don’t get me wrong. I love C.J. Anderson. But it isn’t impossible for defenses to stop the Denver run. And teams have started to do it. And Trevor Siemian isn’t proving he can step up when he’s needed. I think they have two options. It’s not like my opinion truly matters to Vance Joseph but hey it could. The first is bench Siemian for Lynch. Give him a few games to try and get back into the playoff race. They’re lucky the AFC is congested at the moment. While QB woes are the main problem they aren’t the only ones.
Denver can’t seem to win. This is kind of important in football. You need to score to do that. They’ve lost the last three of their past four games getting outscored 40-42. They scored more points in week 2 against the Cowboys than they have in the four games since then. That’s not good. They lost to the Chargers today 21-0. That puts them at 3-3 on the season and 2-1 in the AFC West division. Their next three games are Kansas City, Philadelphia and New England. Those three teams are also three of the best offenses in the NFL. The Denver defense is great. It has been fantastic. But too much Colorado living paired with a bad QB and the defense is starting to wear down. And who can blame them? Their backs must be hurting. They’re carrying this team right now. But if they can’t start scoring points soon they’re gonna be looking at 3-6 before you know it. Their playoff hopes are going to ride on the next say 5 games. They play Miami in a few weeks and both those teams will probably be fighting for a wildcard spot. That owner of the tie-break could help dramatically late in the season.
I think we all know the real culprit in this situation. Denver has been enjoying too much of that Colorado lifestyle. In the words of Stephen A. Smith they need to “Stay off the weed!” Troy Aikman only got a taste so just imagine these dudes. They probably have a dispensary at the arena. It is called the Mile High City is it not? I’m just spitting some facts folks. These Denver Broncos have the munchies. They just aren’t hungry to win.

Make Denver Great Again
