Today In Sports History (January 16, 2013)

On this day in 2013, LeBron James set yet another NBA record. This time, he would become the youngest player in NBA history to score 20,000 career points. LeBron was 28-years-old when he broke the late Kobe Bryant’s previous record of youngest player to score 20,000 career points (29 years, 122 days). He passed Bryant with a over a year to spare, and hasn’t looked back since.

At the time, James was also the youngest ever Rookie of the Year, the youngest player to ever record a triple-double, the youngest player to score 1,000 points and the youngest player to score 10,000 points in league history. King James is currently third on the all-time points list, but he is the only active player with a realistic chance of taking the top spot from Kareem Abdul-Jabbar.

When it’s all said and done, LeBron James will probably own almost every single record/accolade the NBA has to offer, yet some still doubt his greatness. You either hate him or love him, but nobody can diminish the success he has achieved over his professional career.
