That’s right. International badminton going on right now in Bangkok, Thailand. They’re bangin’ shuttlecocks in Bangkok. That can’t be a coincidence right? It’s just too perfect. World championship badminton is still relatively new to me. But the good news for everyone is that the World Tour Finals started yesterday, so there’s plenty of action left on the table. Right now we are still in the Group Stage, and there has already been some intense showdowns in the Impact Arena. The Danish Delight, Viktor Axelsen started off with an extremely strong showing against Anthony Sinisuka Ginting from Indonesia. All eyes will be on the Danish Delight during these Finals, as he is absolutely rolling right now riding a 26 match winning streak. On fire.
The doubles matchups have been extremely entertaining thus far. One second everything is calm and then BOOM it’s absolute chaos, shuttlecocks are flying everywhere and someone always seems to be yelling about something. Let’s not forget when somebody challenges a call they use dramatic music to build anticipation. It’s electric. And the commentary is nothing short of spectacular. I’ve never in my life seen so much admiration for the sport of badminton, and it’s refreshing. Day 2 matches are going on right now late until the morning.
