This one still hurts. I’m trying to reel it in, but it is what it is. Congrats to Anders Antonsen. He made the Danish Delight uncomfortable on the court. You could tell early on this match might be a bit different than what we’ve seen from Axelsen recently. It looked like Axelsen never got to a place where he was comfortable and that’s saying something on behalf of Anders Antonsen. Viktor Axelsen had not lost a competitive match in the last few weeks, and was looking to win his third straight tournament in Bangkok. Mix that, the high level of intensity the Danish Delight has had recently and the unpredictability from Antonsen and you get an upset. The fact that Antonsen won itself is not the upset factor. It’s just the way the Danish Delight has been playing the last few weeks, it was his tournament to lose. Congrats to Anders Antonsen on capturing the Men’s Singles Championship at the BWF World Tour Finals. Still a Denmark victory, which is a small silver lining. Time to get back in the bakery I think. A perfect Danish Delight needs time to prepare.
