Carolina Marin Blows 1-0 Lead In Best-of-Three Women’s Singles Championship at BWF World Tour Finals

WOW. The Women’s Singles Finale at the BWF World Tour Finals might’ve been the best match so far inside the Impact Arena. Carolina Marin just had the biggest collapse in recent Badminton history. Up 1-0 after the first game Tai Tzu Ying came out smashing, taking the second game 21-8. But the third game is when the things got tasty. Marin was up 12-16 and her victory was looming closer and closer. But Ying showed resiliency and stayed in the fight and kept marching on. Up 18-17 Marin made a huge save to bring it to 19-17. It felt like such a momentum stopper that her victory was inevitable. Until Tai Tzu Ying decided to score 4 straight incredible points!! It was glorious. Badminton at it’s finest. It felt like Ying was toying with her during the last couple points. Marin absolutely collapsed towards the end. House of Cards from the beginning if you ask me. I’m still a little new to international badminton, but she seems like a good villain. Does she yell every single time she scores? If so, why? At one point earlier in the match, Tai Tzu Ying froze up when she went up with her racket as if in pain and missed the shuttlecock and Marin scored. Then she starts yelling and chanting like she just have the save of a lifetime. All in all, I think it was a fitting end to that championship final. I’m all about the Tai Tzu Ying Sting. Know what I mean?
