Today In Sports History (January 30, 2018)

On this day two years ago, James Harden set a record for the highest scoring triple-double in NBA history. Against the Orlando Magic, Harden went for 60 points, 11 assists and 10 rebounds to lead them to a 114-107 victory. It was the first ever 60-point triple-double in the history of the NBA, breaking Russell Westbrook’s previous record of a 57-point triple-double. On the night, Harden went 19-30 from the field (63%), and 18-19 from the free-throw line. Harden has five games in his career where he has had a triple-double of at least 50 points, an NBA record. James Harden is also the only player in NBA history to record a triple-double on their debut for a team. He did so earlier this month for the Brooklyn Nets. Fear the Beard.
