On this day in 1971, the first golf ball was hit on the moon by Astronaut Alan Shepard. Shepard was apart of the Apollo 14 space mission in 1971. Shepard was the first American to ever go up into space in 1961, and became the first person to ever play golf on the moon. Shepard used a 6-iron for his famous moon golf shots. His game truly is out of this world.
