Celtics Bounce Back Against Nuggets 112-99

After back-to-back losses for Boston against the two worst teams in the eastern conference, they were able to bounce back last night against the flaming Denver Nuggets. I did say the Nikola Jokic would go for 30 points and 13 rebounds and we were kinda close there. He had 43 points and six rebounds. He did so on 69% shooting (nice). But if you subtract some points and add them to his rebound count, it equals out to about what I said. The Joker also added two steals and five assists. Unfortunately, his stellar performance wouldn’t mean much as the Celtics were in control for much of the game. There were a few moments when Denver almost got it down to single digits or when it looked like they could, but Boston had different plans. Jalen Brown led the charge for the Celtics for 27 points on 55% shooting (50% from deep). Jayson Tatum and Kemba Walker helped round out Boston’s offense with 21 and 17 points respectively. Neither on them shot good last night and Tatum shot an atrocious 13% from three-point land.

In total, it was definitely a game that Denver could have won. The Celtics made more shots when they needed to, and that was the real catalyst for this win. If you’re Denver, it doesn’t help to shoot 25% from the three as a team. Jokic and Murray shot well from beyond the arc, but that was essentially it for Denver. Murray & Jokic made 7 out of Denver’s 9 total three-pointers. The rest of the Nuggets roster shot 2-21 from the three. Ouch. I guess this time it was the Nuggets who got blazed.
