On this day in 1931, the first telecasted sporting event took place in Japan. Japan had always had an infatuation with baseball, much like the United States. This day in 1931 marked the first time any sporting event had been in televised in Japan, and it was one of the first televised baseball games in history. Some say the Japanese are of the upmost elite baseball players in the world, though their version of the game is different than it is in America. There is still some controversy about whether or not Japan was the first country to have a live telecast of their game.
