Both the second ranked teams in each conference. Arguably both the favorites from each conference to make the Finals. But it won’t exactly be the matchup everyone wants to see. Anthony Davis will be out for a few weeks with a calf strain, and his absence will surely be missed by this Lakers squad. And on the Brooklyn end, Durant has missed the last two games, which will rollover into tonight’s matchup. Kyrie Irving has also been absent recently, and most likely won’t suit up tonight either. Despite that, James Harden and co. can seem to pick up the slack when needed. I wouldn’t be surprised if the Lakers end up losing tonight, but I would have to disagree come the Finals. I don’t think Brooklyn will end up having enough prowess to make it to the finals in their first year together. But then again who knows? All it takes is a few things to go their way and BOOM. With that being said, I still think LA will come out victorious if they matchup with Brooklyn in the Finals. But let’s focus on tonight. Lakers are a 3.5 favorite, and it does feel like it could be a very close game.
I like the Lakers tonight, but I wouldn’t be surprised to see a Brooklyn victory. James Harden has had the number of other LeBron led teams in the regular season before. Last season the Rockets dominated the Lakers in the regular season, and we all saw how that ended up for Houston. They’re now a potential lottery team. Yikes.
