We’re about a month removed from the BWF World Tour Finals, and it still feels very fresh. The Danish Delight, Viktor Axelsen was dominating the entire tournament, until the championship match. His fellow countrymen Anders Antonsen got the better of him 21-16, 5-21, 21-17 to take the BWF World Tour Finals championship. Fast forward about a month and we’re getting ready to get going for the YONEX Swiss Open. The Swiss Open is scheduled to be played from March 2nd-7th. Look for the Danish Delight to be on something of a revenge tour, after his deflating loss to Antonsen in the BWF World Tour Finals. Axelsen is currently ranked second in the world, and I can only guess a win would help him overtake the top spot. Considering that BWF events keep getting cancelled (because ya know pandemic) there will probably be an unspoken intensity in the air.
After the Swiss Open, there will only be two other events in the month of March, the YONEX All England Open Badminton Championships and the Orleans Masters in France.
