UFC 259 | Can the Last Stylebender Become the Double Champ?

I mean yeah. There’s always a chance for anything to happen when two guys (or girls) step into the octagon. But for UFC middleweight champion Israel “Izzy” Adesanya aka the Last Stylebender it’s about history. With a win tonight, the Last Stylebender can become a champion in two weight classes; middleweight and light-heavyweight. It is something only four fightesr have done in UFC history (Conor McGregor, Daniel Cormier, Amanda Nunes and Henry Cejudo). Adesanya has the makings of a transcendent fighter. Since entering the UFC in 2018, he is on a nine fight win streak and 20-0 in his career. His reign over the middleweight division is reminiscent of Anderson Silva, but Adesanya is blazing his own path. But in order to continue blazing that path, Izzy will have to get through light-heavyweight champion Jan Blachowicz first. The Polish Prince of Cieszyn is on a four fight win streak, and has the ability to end it with one punch. On the other end, Adesanya definitely has knockout power of his own, with 15 of his 20 wins coming by KO or TKO. I don’t know if Adesyana will knockout the Prince of Cieszyn at this heavier weight though. Jan is more used to it. I wouldn’t be surprised if we see it go to a decision. Either way you slice it, the Last Stylebender is defining his legacy tonight. We’re either going to see a 20-0 fighter’s first loss in the UFC, or we’re going to see the 5th ever double champ in UFC history.
