Well…The Portland Trailblazers fire sale is in motion! CJ McCollum has been traded to the New Orleans Pelicans just days before the NBA’s trade deadline. I wouldn’t call it shocking, but it is a bit surprising to see this team collapse this way. For years it felt like the Trailblazers were only a piece or two away from the NBA Finals, but they could never quite get over their hurdles. It wasn’t for lack of trying though. Damian Lillard put the franchise on his back more than a few times during their playoff runs. But that’s all a relic of the past now. Portland is also sending Larry Nance and Tony Snell down to the bayou along with McCollum. In return, the Trailblazers are receiving Josh Hart, Tomas Satoransky, Nickeil Alexander-Walker, Didi Louzada and three draft picks (one protected first-round & two second-round picks). This was just days after Portland also traded away Norman Powell and Robert Covington to the LA Clippers. Apparently Jusuf Nurkic is next. Sorry Portland fans. Some would say this makes sense, because the Trailblazers franchise is a product of their own environment. At least their franchise player enjoys playing there. But the real questions is when it gonna be Dame’s time?
