This could actually be pretty awesome. Ruben Fleischer, the director of the game-adapted film Uncharted, has been talking to the folks over at Playstation about making a movie adaption of the Jak and Daxter games. If anyone doesn’t know about those games, they were amazing. As a kid, I played Jak and Daxter with my uncle all the time, and they were some of my best memories. They had so many different elements in them that made it enjoyable, especially how everything looked. So if there gonna make a movie version of Jak and Daxter, it better be incredible.
Fleischer has also talked about Tom Holland playing Jak, and after seeing him as Spider-Man, I say go for it. The real anomaly here is Daxter. The movie will be terrible if Daxter is done unjustly. In a new time where video games are being adapted into films, this is a series I think a lot of people would be happy to see on the silver screen. Unless it looks bad. Nobody should reward their efforts if it looks like a polished turd. But depending on how Uncharted turns out, that might not even be an issue.
