I mean who is honestly surprised here? It’s The King for crying out loud. Despite this, there are still a bunch of delusional weirdos that want him dethroned. To that I say, keep on waiting, because time is the only thing that will ever beat LeBron. Yet, even time isn’t putting up that great of a fight. In his 19th season, he is still as efficient as ever. He also got tired of people saying he can’t score, so he decided he would win the scoring title once again. Remember that time back in 2018 when he outscored James Harden the entire season but still didn’t win the scoring title because Harden played in less games and had a slightly higher average? Yeah, that was almost as moronic as when that deadbeat Gary Washburn was the only person to vote Carmelo as MVP when LeBron was one vote away from the first unanimous MVP ever. But we won’t get into that today.
The King is back in his 2018 Super Saiyan form. For anyone who doesn’t remember, 2018 LeBron James is the best version of a basketball player ever in the history of this galaxy.

I don’t know if LeBron had to break into the cryogenic cloning chamber to get his 2018 counterpart, but whatever he did is working. In a marquee matchup against Golden State, LeBron does what he does best. James outplayed Steph Curry and Klay Thompson for the 6,000th time in a row, going for a season high of 56 points on 61% shooting. Just another night for The King. To go along with that, he shot 55% from three-point land and had 10 rebounds for good measure. It was enough to secure the win. He was in striking distance for his career high of 61, which is just absurd to think about. In his 19th year at the ripe old age of 37, LeBron is still playing like he’s 27. I’d say it’s uncommon, but the fact of the matter is it’s only uncommon for guys not named LeBron James. He’s been doing this for two decades.

Not even a week after his season high, LeBron decided to go dummy once again, exploding for 50 against the Washington Wizards. He was even more efficient this time around, doing it on 72% shooting. He wasn’t just finishing at the rim either. James went 6-9 (nice) from beyond the arc at a mark of 66%. That’s absolutely insane, and if any other player had two 50-point games in a week then we wouldn’t hear the end of it. But when LeBron does it, it’s nothing crazy. That tells you two things. He’s been doing this forever, and at this point people expect it. The sad thing is he almost has to do this for LA to be successful. It’s been very reminiscent of his 2018 season, and not in a good way. But it doesn’t help when he has the Charmin Ultra Soft Player of the Decade on his team. Like does Russel Westbrook even attempt to practice shooting in his free time??

LeBron is atop the NBA scorers right now with Giannis Antetokounmpo and Joel Embiid hot on his trails. The only different is one of those guys is 37 and has been in the league nearly 20 years. Regardless of this, just appreciate his greatness while we have it. Love him or hate him, the game will not be the same when he retires.
