Today In Sports History (March 26, 1973)

On this day in 1973, the UCLA Bruins won the NCAA men’s basketball national title defeating Memphis 87-66 en route to a 7th straight championship. The Bruins were led by Bill Walton, who had 44 points in the national championship while only missing one shot. Walton was named the Most Outstanding Player award for the second straight year. This UCLA team set a record of seven straight national title victories. This was the the final championship of that stretch, but it remains of the most incredible feats in sports history.
